Iaido

Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido is one of the oldest traditional sword schools of Japan. It was begun about 450 years ago. The iaido group at the Dojo follows the teachings of the 22nd Soke, Ikeda Takashi Seiko, leader of the Eishin Ryu Seitokai Iaido Association. The Dojo iaido group is directly connected to the Seitokai group in Japan through the Chiba Iaido group and receives instruction from the Chiba kancho (dojo head) yearly.

The Denton Dojo is also on friendly terms with members of both the Seitokai group and Zen Nippon Iaido Renmei dojo in North America and Europe. The Dojo in Denton is directly connected to the dojo in Friendswood (south of Houston), Baton Rouge, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Kansas City.

The purpose of the iaido group at the Dojo is to directly transmit all aspects of iaido to the next generation, as faithfully and correctly as possible. If you have an interest in a traditional Japanese sword art, please come by the Dojo for a visit.
